responsive grantmaking guidelines
The Kalamazoo Community Foundation seeks to be a responsive and proactive community partner that helps local nonprofit organizations address community needs. We make strategic community investments in programs that help the greater Kalamazoo community thrive.
Organizations that are recognized under Section 501(c)(3) of the Internal Revenue Code and provide services to the greater Kalamazoo community are eligible to apply for grants. Organizations seeking funding from the Community Foundation should determine their top funding need and if it fits with our community investment priorities. We do accept capital and operational funding requests. However, these types of requests also must fit within one of the priority areas. We will consider proposals that address other needs or emergency issues, but first consideration will be given to requests that fit within the four priority areas.
