Get. Grow. Give.

That's what we do here at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation. We receive gifts from people from all walks of life and help them achieve their charitable and financial goals. We invest the gifts we receive so they grow, which enables us to give back to the community and enhance the quality of life for all in the greater Kalamazoo area. Since our founding in 1925, we have provided essential funding to programs that nurture and empower young people, prepare children for success in school, enable individuals and families to build self-sufficiency, and enhance community vitality and prosperity.

Get money.
Working with the Community Foundation doesn't require great wealth and isn't complicated. Whether you choose to support our community now or through your estate plan, we can help. You can:

• Make a donation now to one or more of our Spirit of Community Funds.
• Contribute to one or more of the other funds already established here.
Establish a fund with the focus of your choice.

Grow money.
The Community Foundation plays a unique role in our community. We exist to encourage community-based philanthropy and to maximize the gifts we receive. We use a financial investment model that is based on consistency and has proven to perform exceptionally well in both up and down markets—and is expected to do so over the long term. For endowed funds, our investment objectives are to preserve the original value of gifts in terms of inflation, and grow our assets to ensure that financial resources are available to meet current and future community needs.

Give money.
The Community Foundation gives back to our community by using our unrestricted resources to make strategic investments in quality programs that address needs and make the greater Kalamazoo area a better place. We have four community investment priorities:

• Early Childhood Learning and School Readiness
• Economic and Community Development
• Individuals and Families
• Youth Development
