eGRANT

Welcome to eGRANT, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation's online scholarship application. eGRANT is the application used for scholarships offered by the Community Foundation to Kalamazoo area students through a competitive application process.

To apply for a Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarship you must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident alien (additional residency/ high school requirements may be listed in each scholarship's eligibility criteria). All Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books, transportation and personal expenses associated with the cost of education.

How to Apply

Step 1:
Read our complete list of Scholarships to review each scholarship's eligibility criteria and application requirements. This list will inform you of any required attachments and/or additional forms.

Step 2:
Determine the scholarships for which you are eligible and want to apply. You may apply for up to eight scholarships.

Step 3:
Set up your eGRANT user account by creating a login ID and password.

Step 4:
Use the Create New Application button to begin completing your eGRANT application. Your application does not need to be completed all at once. Be sure to click Save Your Work before exiting. To return to eGRANT to work on your application another time, enter your login ID and password, then click Edit.

Step 5:
Print and review your eGRANT application before submitting it online to ensure that all the information you have provided is complete and accurate. To do this, return to the Main Menu, click on View, and print your application. A checklist also will print. Use the checklist to verify that you have completed all of the steps and have included the required attachments.

Step 6:
After you have completed the online portion of your eGRANT application, complete and upload the Activities/Employment History Form (two pages), any essays specific to the scholarships for which you are applying (many, but not all scholarships require an essay), and any additional forms specific to the scholarships for which you are applying (click here to access these forms).

You also will need to provide the Kalamazoo Community Foundation with:

One copy of an official high school transcript (including ACT/SAT scores) or college transcript, whichever is appropriate. The transcript must include the fall 2009 semester.

One or more letters of recommendation. It is your responsibility to provide the form to your  recommenders and to follow up to make certain this information is received by the Community Foundation.

If stated in the eligibility criteria for the scholarships for which you are applying, you must also:

Complete and submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) to the Federal  Processing Center by March 1. Do not mail a copy of the FAFSA to the Community Foundation.

Provide copies of the Financial Information Summary form to the financial aid offices of the  colleges to which you have been or are most likely to be accepted. Only complete the top portion of the Financial Information Summary form before you send it to the college/university.

Step 7:
Submit your application electronically in eGRANT by using the Submit My Data button on the Finish screen. Your online application must be submitted by midnight of the stated deadline.
