Four Simple Steps to Get Started
The Kalamazoo Community Foundation can help you at every stage of developing and implementing your giving plan.
Step 1: Think about your goals. Often a conversation with family members or your financial advisor is the best way to starting thinking about a charitable giving plan. Community Foundation staff members can join you in these conversations if you choose.
Step 2: Decide when to give. Consult with your financial advisor to determine if it is more appropriate to give to an existing fund, establish a fund now, or establish a fund later through your estate plan.
Step 3: Decide what to give. A member of our Donor Relations staff can talk with you about the different kinds of assets you can use to establish a fund. While most people establish a fund with cash or stock, you also can make a gift of real estate, an interest in a family business, or other property.
Step 4: Talk with us about how to give. Learn more about ways to give, including establishing a fund at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation, by contacting our Donor Relations staff by telephone at (269) 381-4416 or email. |
