The W.E. Upjohn Society
The W.E. Upjohn Society–named in honor of Dr. W.E. Upjohn whose gift of $1,000 established the Kalamazoo Community Foundation in 1925–is the Community Foundation's way of expressing its sincere appreciation to our donors for their vision and generosity in giving a gift that will forever benefit the greater Kalamazoo community.
Members of The W.E. Upjohn Society include special families and individuals from our community who have established an endowed fund; created an Advised Fund, whether endowed or not; established a charitable gift annuity; or designated the Community Foundation as the recipient of a planned gift.
Members of this society are preserving the tradition of investing in our community started by Dr. Upjohn so many years ago. To demonstrate our appreciation and respect for their generosity, members are:
• Updated on important grantmaking and scholarship activities of the Community Foundation provided with additional information that may help them further accomplish their charitable goals. • Invited to special events hosted by the Community Foundation. All events of The W.E. Upjohn Society are made possible by gifts to a special endowed fund created solely for the purpose of honoring the legacy of Dr. W.E. Upjohn and the members of The W.E. Upjohn Society and their commitment to the greater Kalamazoo community. • Presented with the opportunity to have their names listed in the Community Foundation's Annual Report. Donors may remain anonymous if they wish. |
