Community Investments
In the years since its founding, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation has provided essential funding to programs that help individuals and families build self-sufficiency, ensure that all children have an equal chance fo success in school, nuture and prepare our young people for life beyond school, and enhance quality of life and community prosperity.
Because of the generous spirit of many, the Community Foundation made more than $17.3 million in community investments in 2008. A listing of the Community Foundation's 2008 community investments from Unrestricted Funds, which totaled approximately $3.6 million, appears below.

Program and Business Related Investments
Since 2000, the Kalamazoo Community Foundation's board of trustees has authorized more than $22.5 million in Program and Business Related Investments to assist with economic and community redevelopment projects. Some have already been completed; others are underway or planned for the future. The objective has been to provide low-interest loans to organizations dedicated to enhancing the economic growth and vitality of the greater Kalamazoo area.
