Establishing a Fund
at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation

Establishing a named charitable fund at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation is simple. The process can most often be completed in less than a day.

1. First select the type of fund based on your client's charitable goals.

2. Next determine what giving strategy to establish the fund.
Donors may contribute cash, securities or other property.

3. Select a name for the fund. Clients can use any name they
choose (i.e. their own name, the name of a family member,
or one that is representative of the purpose of the fund).

4. Complete and sign a simple governing document that we will
provide and help customize for the donor.

Once the fund is established, donors may add to the fund at any time, in any dollar amount.

For a more detailed explanation of this process, to explore a donation option or to discuss a specific situation, email any member of the Community Foundation's Donor Relations staff or call (269) 381-4416.
