A community is only as strong as the connections among its people. In the greater Kalamazoo area, we value our deep civic pride, our quality of life, and our capacity for caring. But we know that there is always more to be done to build the bonds between citizens that can enrich our lives and improve our community.

Those are the guiding principles of BetterTogether/Kalamazoo. This initiative reaches out to the community to address our most pressing issues, as identified by the people who live here. By starting discussions, motivating individuals to action, encouraging collaboration and investing in our neighborhoods, we are making the connections that define our unique quality of life in Kalamazoo stronger than ever before.

Through three important programs, the Community Foundation invests in ideas for community change that originate in the hearts and minds of residents of the greater Kalamazoo area. They include:

•  Good Neighbor Grants

•  ChangeMakers Workshops

•  Front Porch Grants
