First quarter grant highlights

The Community Foundation awarded 20 grants totaling $2.4 million in the first quarter of 2015.

The grants were awarded from our unrestricted resources to Kalamazoo County nonprofits.

"Unrestricted resources are critically important to our work because they ensure there will be flexible resources tomorrow for needs we can’t even imagine today,” says Joanna Dales, vice president, Donor Relations. “Donors who do not place any restrictions on their gifts enable our board of trustees and Community Investment team to address Kalamazoo County’s current community needs, and invest in the work of organizations that are collaborating with others to make long-term, transformative change."
