Scholarship Information

The Evelyn Prince Memorial Scholarship was established by friends and family of Prince, an avid golfer who twice participated in the state championships for Kalamazoo Central High School. She was a straight-A student and spent one summer as a congressional page in Washington D.C. It was her love of travel that took her to Wolfsburg, Germany as a 17-year-old foreign exchange student in 1999, where she died in an auto accident.

Eligibility Criteria

Female graduating high school senior who is a Kalamazoo County resident or attends a Kalamazoo County high school or a high school that participates in the Greater Kalamazoo High School Women's Golf Tournament. Must have been a member of the high school varsity golf team for at least her junior and/or senior year; planning to pursue a four-year degree as a full-time student; minimum 2.5 GPA; demonstration of school and community involvement.

  1. Complete and submit one online scholarship application. We will match you to the Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarship(s) that you are eligible for.
  2. If you are matched to this scholarship we will notify you, via email, that two Letters of Recommendation and recommendation forms, completed by adults other than family members, will be required.  One recommendation must be from a high school or private golf coach and should address the student's academic and personal achievements; competitive and team spirit leadership and attainment of goals.
