Scholarship Search

There are literally thousands of scholarships available to students today. We want to help you find and take full advantage of all the opportunities available to you. This scholarship search tool focuses on the sources of aid available by the Kalamazoo Community Foundation.

Many of the scholarships listed here are for high school seniors, but there also are several for students already enrolled in college and non-traditional students. The descriptions shown are a summary and may not provide complete eligibility requirements. All Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books, transportation and personal expenses associated with the cost of education.

Scholarship Information

The Glen C. Smith Jr./KCC Caddie Scholarship was established at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation in 1985 by the Kalamazoo Country Club Caddie Committee in honor of Glen Smith, Jr. The purpose of the scholarship is to provide scholarship assistance to young people in qualified caddie programs at member clubs of the Golf Association of Michigan and the Western Golf Association.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduating high school senior or graduate from a  high school located within Kalamazoo County or is a graduating high school senior or high school graduate who is a Kalamazoo County resident; golf caddie for two (2) years at the Kalamazoo Country Club or at a member club of the Golf Association of Michigan or the Western Golf Association; enrolled or planning to enroll in a two- or four-year college/university or a vocational or technical training program full-time; minimum 2.00 GPA; demonstrates leadership potential through participation in school, civic, or community activities; preference given to students who demonstrate financial need.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete and submit one online scholarship application. We will match you to the Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarship(s) that you are eligible for.
  2. If you are matched to this scholarship we will notify you, via email, that two Letters of Recommendation and recommendation forms, completed by adults other than family members, will be required. One letter of recommendation from a teacher/professor or employer; and one letter of recommendation from a caddie superintendent, golf professional or caddie committee member at the place of caddie service.An official cumulative high school or college transcript through the most recent term.
  3. Financial need may be a consideration for this scholarship. If you have applied for financial aid by filling the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and are applying for a need-based scholarship, please complete the student section of the Financial Information Summary form and then forward the form to the college financial aid office where you have been accepted. They will complete the form and return it to our office.
