Scholarship Search

There are literally thousands of scholarships available to students today. We want to help you find and take full advantage of all the opportunities available to you. This scholarship search tool focuses on the sources of aid available by the Kalamazoo Community Foundation.

Many of the scholarships listed here are for high school seniors, but there also are several for students already enrolled in college and non-traditional students. The descriptions shown are a summary and may not provide complete eligibility requirements. All Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarships may be used for tuition and fees, room and board, books, transportation and personal expenses associated with the cost of education.

Scholarship Information

The Kalamazoo Science Foundation Scholarship was established in 1958 to aid promising Kalamazoo area high school students who might not otherwise be able to afford an education in science, mathematics or engineering to develop their potential.

Eligibility Criteria

Graduating high school senior or graduate who is a Kalamazoo County resident or is a graduating high school senior or graduate of a Kalamazoo County high school; planning to attend a four-year university or college full time and major in math, science, or engineering (architecture, nursing, occupational therapy, optometry, pharm d  and physical therapy are not eligible majors). Majors should include a research component. Minimum 3.5 GPA for high school seniors or a minimum 3.0 GPA for college undergraduates. Demonstration of financial need according to the Free Application for Federal Student Aid.

Application Requirements

  1. Complete and submit one online scholarship application. We will match you to the Kalamazoo Community Foundation scholarship(s) that you are eligible for. 
  2. If you are matched to this scholarship we will notify you, via email, that you will need to complete the following form:Kalamazoo Science Foundation Scholarship - Interests Goals and Talents Form  
  3. An official cumulative high school or college transcript through the most recent term.
  4. Current college undergraduates must also submit a high school transcript and SAT/ACT score as well as an official college transcript through the most recent term/semester.
  5. This scholarship requires that you demonstrate financial need. Please complete the student section of the Financial Information Summary form and then forward the form to the college financial aid office where you have been accepted. They will complete the form and return it to our office.
