Establishing a fund at the Kalamazoo Community Foundation is an easy way to invest in our community.

You can create a fund that supports a particular need or area of interest, or one that is multipurpose and flexible. Whichever option you choose, the fund you create will make an impact on community needs.

Unrestricted Funds

When you establish an Unrestricted Fund, you place your trust in us and enable us to use our knowledge and expertise to make community investments in programs that address our community's most pressing needs, respond quickly to emergencies and facilitate innovative responses to community challenges.

Field-of-Interest Funds

When you establish a Field-of-Interest Fund, you focus your giving on the issue or cause you care about most — such as youth, the environment, education, healthcare or the arts. Your gift remains flexible to meet community needs in your interest area, even as they change over time.

Donor Advised Funds/Advised Funds

Advised Funds are convenient, flexible tools for individuals, families, businesses or groups that want to be actively involved in suggesting community investments made possible by their gifts.

Designated Funds

Designated Funds are established for the benefit of the nonprofit organization, or educational or religious institution of your choice. Individual donors or nonprofits themselves may establish these funds that provide support now and enhance the resources these organizations will need in the future.

Scholarship Funds

Scholarship Funds can support undergraduate and graduate education, professional development and other educational enrichment opportunities. Our knowledgeable staff will help you determine the criteria students must meet to receive the scholarship you establish.
