Grants & Programs
Before applying, please review the following...
- Are you eligible to receive a grant from the Kalamazoo Community Foundation? Visit our Eligibility Requirements.
- Have you reviewed our Grantmaking Guide? Download our guide.
The first step for everyone in our grantmaking process is to submit a grant request using the online form linked in the yellow box below. You will receive a confirmation email after your request has been received.
Due Dates
You may submit your Grant Request at any time throughout the year. We review requests for $25,000 or less on the first Wednesday of each month. If your Grant Request is received by 5 p.m. the Monday before that date, it will be included in our review. Note: We do not review requests in December or January.
There are specific deadlines for requests of more than $25,000:
- Wednesday, March 22, 2023 by 5 p.m.
- Funding decisions will be made June 2023
- Funding decisions will be made June 2023
- Wednesday, September 20, 2023 by 5 p.m.
- Funding decisions will be made December 2023
- Funding decisions will be made December 2023
KZCF generally considers one comprehensive Grant Request per organization on an annual basis.
Your Grant Request must be completed in one session; you will not be able to save and return to the online form later. We recommend you answer the questions in a document first, then copy and paste from it to the online form. A Grant Request template is available for download here.
Note: We recommend a maximum of 400 words per question. This is a recommendation, not a requirement. You will receive a copy of your Grant Request by email shortly after it has been submitted.
