The Kalamazoo Community Foundation's 2016 Financial Aid Night will be held at 7 p.m. on November 14 at Kalamazoo RESA's Wile Auditorium at 1819 E. Milham Ave. The session is free and open to the public.

The Community Foundation’s scholarship team and an area college financial aid counselor will have information for high school graduating seniors.

"Attendees will learn how to navigate through the financial aid process," says Nancy Timmons, scholarship manager at the Community Foundation. "Students and their families will learn about scholarships, grants and loans, where to find them and how to apply. We can also answer questions about why the FAFSA is so important, no matter what your plans are."

The Community Foundation awards more than 300 scholarships totaling more than $1 million to local students each year. The scholarships come from 53 different scholarship funds with awards ranging from $250 to $7,500. More than $27 million has been awarded to area students over the years.
